Elizabeth Granger 12 April 1780 Nottingham St Marys
« on: Tuesday 26 January 16 09:20 GMT (UK) »
Morning all,
I was going through some papers of my research and found this. I have been looking for Elizabeth for quite sometime as she married William Tuckwood (1779 Welby Lincs) 1803 Nottingham St Marys. Coud anyone find her parents, please, as it would help me to place William from 1800 to 1803.
Thank you
Maggie

I can't see a baptism for her on the Notts FHS CD

I don't know,Carol. I found it written on some paperwork from when I went to Notts Archives a couple of years ago. Like an idiot I should have written down the source. I went to have a look at the witnesses on the marriage index. Henry Daycock was the only one with the Clerk. I couldn't understand why she had no family there which would have given me a clue to her parents. William's family were all dead apart from his dad who married Elizabeth Bee in Rauceby Lincs 1801.
I know its a long shot but I live in Skegness which is a long way from Nottingham, thats why I wondered if anyone could help.
I must have seen it somewhere.
Thanks for your reply.
Maggie

Thanks for your rely,Larkspur,
Willoughby William died 1800 and the other one is my family. Amy died 1799 and his dad remarried 1801. I'm just curious where I got that date from for Elizabeth. When William married Amy he was "from the parish of Manthorpe" There was also a Thomas Tuckwood there who married a Sarah. Could they have been brothers? Thomas went to live in Orston/Granby.
I guess I will have to have a trip to Notts.
The difficult part I have had all along is proving that the William who married Elizabeth Granger in Notts is the same William who was William and Amy's son in Welby.
You have helped me with loads,Larkspur. So thank you.
Maggie
