Harry Cecil Bridge
« on: Friday 29 January 16 14:43 GMT (UK) »
Harry Cecil Bridge born Risby 1876 died Newmarket 1941
Under his wifes VAD details she states "he served in France", but cannot find any records of him serving in WW1 ( she was Marion Elizabeth Scarff) they married in 1917
Would appreciate any help on this one.
ONLY LOOKING FOR MILITARY INFO.
Many thanks

Unfortunately, a lot of military records haven't survived, so there's a chance you may not find any for Harry.

Ancestry and Findmypast have different sets of military records, so try them both. Also try searching without the middle name.

I agree re looking for him without the middle name, as he apparently didn't have one at birth (Mar qtr 1876 Thingoe).

What do you know of his life before Marion - had he been married before; have you found him in 1901/1911?

What was his stated occupation and address when he married Marion in 1917?

Found him marrying on FindMyPast but it does not give address. I have him in 1891 age 15 as Agri Lab. then nothing on 1901 or 1911.
I did not find  any other marriages for him.
He is proving to be a mystery
