Farrington's of Hertfordshire.
« on: Saturday 30 January 16 14:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi All.

Does anyone have any information regarding The Farrington's of Hertfordshire. Most of the family were born in and around Ware, Royston Buntingford etc, in the 1800's.  I think they have come from Cambrideshire at the turn of 1700-1800's.
They were mainly Carpenters.
The relevant names are:
Thomas
Henry (Harry)
Albert
Kate.
My direct family left Hert's and came to London in the late 1800's.

My Grandfather was Henry Thomas Farrington,  he was born in 1887 in Ware, although went by the name of Thomas. He and his brother Albert ended their days in Kent, Sidcup and Chislehurst.
Any information would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Tony.

Hi Ray.

Thank you so much for that.
I will go digest it.
Can I ask what H.A.L.S stands for?

Thank you so much once again.

Zish. Tony.

I realise I'm a little bit late to this party, but I'm searching for the details of Thomas William Ferrington, who I believe was Farrington previously.  He moved to Australia, but I have no idea when this occurred.  I know that in 1853 his son, Thomas William Ferrington Jr, had a young child die in 1853 in Sydney, so I know he was there by then.  Thomas Sr eventually died in 1869 in Woolloomooloo (Sydney) at the age of 81 according to the newspaper, so that would put his birth date circa 1788.

Does anyone know the birthdate of the Thomas Farrington of Buntingford that married Sarah in the Dodkin in the Royston marriage register 17 May 1819?  The death notice in the newspaper puts Thomas Jr as dying shortly after his father in 1871 at the age of 50 years, so his birth would be circa 1821.  In the death notice, in the Sydney Morning Herald, there is an "English papers please copy" note, so that indicates where he came from.

Any information would be helpful.

I have a picture of Thomas Jr
