This map shows the townland boundaries for Garryduff as well as modern road names, etc.

I tried for at least an hour to get into the 1901 Irish census last night but there were problems with the site. I did find William's death but not Anne Jane's, but then again, I didn't have her first name cause I couldn't get into the census. Thank you so very much Aghadowey for everything.

... I am thinking Garryduff is near Belfast.

Perhaps you were subconciously thinking of "Ballyduff" which is a townland within Carnmoney Parish.
[The village of Carnmoney lies mostly within this townland.]

There's no indication that they ever went to Scotland- the passenger manifest clearly states that the family disembarked in Moville, Ireland (3rd column from left). It also shows the U.K. address as Garryduff (not Garry Duff).

I haven't been to Garryduff since yesterday evening  :)
Sorry using a tablet and put space in by mistake Garryduff

William James Anderson (1855-1931) was my gg grandfather.  His wife, Ann Jane Stewart, was born on 12 Oct 1865 in Burnquater, which is an adjoining downland to Garryduff.  Ann Jane died on 30 Sept 1939.  They had 13 children, including Martha Burns Anderson.  Martha was named after her grandmother, Martha Burns, who married William James's father, John Anderson.

Thank you very much, DrewH and Kiltaglassen. I have updated my file. Do you know when and where Archibald died? I thought today was the last day of my British Newspaper Archive subscription but I guess it was yesterday as I can't sign in today. I thought that I might get Archibald's obit if there was one.
I have that Archibald's parents were James Neill and Sarah Martin and that her parents were Archibald James Martin and Anna Lawson born abt 1806 in Killbride, married about 1843 . Do you have the parents of Anna Lawson, guessing Francis and unknown mother.
thanks for any help
