Date on OPR records.
« on: Tuesday 02 February 16 15:34 GMT (UK) »
On a few of the OPR records (birth/marriage) that I've came across, I'm not sure which date is for which entry - the date written before or after the names.

I've attached a snippet of one.

I am not familiar with this layout, but from what I read here the date before the name in extra large script seems to me to be the date of birth belonging to that person.  The date following is the Baptism date.
eg.  William Milne Mason was born 17 Oct 1843 and baptized 5 Nov 1843.

Yes that would follow in that the second date is rendered    "....November said year...." implying that you have to look in the entry for a year/date already mentioned.
I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe

Heatherr,
This may sound a bit odd but, this EXACT OPR page  ( download date, time and search is the same) was passed to me last week via another Genealogy forum.
Was it you or another relative that I was discussing Janet Cunningham with?

She married one of my relatives and was last heard of in 1839 emigrating to the US via Canada together with her children and 2, positively identified young men.
They were both the sons of her husband's brother.

Whilst I can find both nephews in the US after their arrival, I never located Janet, her husband or any of their 4 children.( 3 Scots born & 1 Canadian born)

That is strange, but no it wasn't me. These names don't relate to me, I just cropped/pasted the first half of the page I was looking at.

Though I should've mentioned that it's a Scottish record.

Please ignore my last post.
Although it's the same OPR area, I was comparing it to the wrong document .
Not exactly sure why my PC opened a doc in my file rather than the one you posted??
