    Born: 19 Apr 1896, Nags Head, West Rainton, Haughton-le-Spring, Durham County, England

My great grandmother, All I know is she was a Scot, and her family moved to Canada around 1900. Trying to trace this family line, if anyone can offer some help that would be appreciated!

There is only one Elizabeth Laycock I can see born 1896 in Durham. 1901 census shows her as being born in Leamside - google search shows this is in West Rainton - and with parents as Aaron and Ellen. Possible marriage Aaron Laycock and Ellen Cooper in Lanchester district Oct - Dec 1894.

1901 census has this family living in Whitburn(with siblings of Elizabeth called Abraham and William). They also appear in the 1911  census which I am not able to quote further.

Passenger list has Mrs Ellen Laycock with children Elizabeth, William, Eva, Aaron, Robert, Emma plus an infant sailing from Liverpool June 28th 1913 Ship called the Canada.

that looks about right as to heading to Canada, as I was told Great Grandma came to Canada when she was 16...the other info I had was given by someone else so likely not accurate...what you sent is probably the accurate info. THANK YOU

Suggest you go to Family Search as there are a lot of records with images re this family there. If the correct family Elizabeth Laycock married Joseph Matthew Brown in Paris, Ontario 8 March 1915. Father seems to incorrectly written as Adam Laycock.

If you search for Aaron Laycock you should find Canadian passenger lists and his death cert (along with that of his son).

Searching backwards?  Do you mean searching for Aaron's parents??
