William whalen b.cerca 1820 Ireland possibly Dublin mystery wife .
« on: Friday 05 February 16 20:27 GMT (UK) »
Hello I wonder if anyone could help. I am seeking information about  the above person and  the identity of the  lady who gave birth to Margaret Whalen b.1838 in  Dublin. Margaret later moved to England and settled in Dewsbury and married in 1859  Jeremiah Hanson  also  b.1838.
In the marriage certificate of Margaret her father is listed as being a blacksmith  ( St Paulinus Catholic church in Dewsbury) but no mention of her mother's name
Thanks for any help advice Ian

Hello lasquith,

I've had a quick look on my favourite "go to" site, Irish genealogy ie and inputted the name Margaret Whalen and a year range of 1836 to 1840. There were no Whalens but quite a few Whelans, some of whom are in Dublin. Bearing in mind that names can be misspelled, is it possible that one of them is your Margaret? This is the page http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/search.jsp?namefm=margaret&namel=whalen&location=&yyfrom=1836&yyto=1840&submit=Search
