Experience and advise needed.
« on: Sunday 07 February 16 14:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi Rootschat

I need some advice on who might be the parents to my granddads dad.

ok, so his dad was

Thomas Bernard Flynn who married a Emma Maria Bettany (Flynn)

Birth Date   abt 1899
Age at Death   33 - Date of Registration   Jun 1932
Registration district   Stoke on Trent
Inferred County   Staffordshire

hints via the ancestry website, have been suggesting this census record

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=7814&h=34460243&ssrc=pt&tid=87833737&pid=44567834540&usePUB=true

the dates and the areas seem to match, but i would like someone with experience to let me know their thoughts.

Thank you
Flynn
Bettany
Dawson
Flaherty
Burns

The hints im on the ancestry site are that his dad was named thomas and his mother martha, and "Grooms Father Bernard" could be the icing on the cake.

My granddads is thomas bernard, my granddads brother is thomas bernard too, so i think it all adds up.

Whats the reason for the "m" and "um", obviously its meant be Thomas Bernard not Thomam Bernardum, why would it have been written like that?

I think it's written in Latin which pertains usually to a Catholic church
Walton, Jones, Parker, Tipping,Nicholson, morrow, young, arrowsmith,Elliott, Anderson, ring rose, scrimshaw, hogarth, stewart
