Looking for Alexander Mathieson and family who moved from Farr to Leith in Midlothian early to mid 1800s,he was a Tailor.

If he is the one b 1835 married to Jessie - exactly what type of info are you looking for?

thank you yes that,s his wife i,m descended through his son and grandson both Alexander who moved to Hamilton in lanarkshire, I,m trying to find out if he was born in Farr and if he died in Midlothian.

The 1871 census shows his birthplace as Farr but he was living in Midlothian at that time

Jessie    31 b Inverness

Still in Midlothian in 1881 - 8 Raeburn Place

Additional children Jessie 8  John 6 Dolina 3 - all b Edinburgh

They also have Jessie's mother living with them - Mary McDonald aged 76 b Inverness

Still in Midlothian in 1891 - only one son John 17 living with them.  Can't find either Alexander or Jessie in 1901 so you will need to look on Scotlands People for his death between 1891-1901

Thank you very much think i,ve been crossing between different families !!,coincidence is my brother his namesake is a Tailor,must be in the genes.
