Bidston Cheshire inscriptions microfiche
« on: Sunday 14 February 16 09:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Does anyone have the Cheshire grave inscription microfiche for Bidston church.I'm looking for three names and would appreciate it if anyone has it and could check.I'm living overseas and don't want to make a wasted journey next time I get back home to the UK.
The names are:

John Moore died 1839
Margaret Moore died 184?
Thomas Moore died 1801

Any help would be much appreciated.

John

To make it a bit easier for anyone with or is able to search the fiche

Margaret Moore died 22 March 1841 and was Buried St Oswald Bidston 25 March 1841
She was 64 and her residence was Liverpool.
Thomas Moore was buried 29 August 1819 St Oswald.
He was 13 years of age, Residence Liverpool.
I can't see a burial for a John Moore at Bidston ???

Hi,

Thanks that's great!!
Just to confirm, this info is taken from the grave inscriptions(from the headstones)?
Any ideas when these were recorded?
I think they may also have had an earlier Thomas that died in 1801.The later one means another addition to the tree.

Thank you:)

Thomas Moore is a new one though.
Let's hope Someone out there has the microfiche
Apologies for the mistake

No Problem  ;D
This website just gives burial details, I'm not sure where the fiche for the headstones will be but someone will know.

If your using the CPRD for the first time I find it best to just put the first three letters in the surname search box. It will then bring up Moor/Moors/Moores.

I looked for war graves in St Oswalds.  Compared to some churches there aren't too many burials there and provided the graves are marked and legible, it shouldn't be too difficult to find what you are looking for.

It is possible that Birkenhead library might have an index of monumental inscriptions for St Oswalds?  Might be worth emailing them to find out.  Tel: 0151 606 2665

Hello Mojo47
Not sure if this is your John and Margaret Moore both deceased of Liverpool?
There is an article in the Liverpool Mercury dated Friday April 23rd 1841 from a firm of Solicitors relating to a John Moore late of Great Howard-street, Liverpool and his widow also deceased Margaret Moore, if you pm me I will email you the article.
Article dated about one month after your Margaret's death.
