But in your opening post you said he remarried in 1942 so have you looked on freebmd?  A copy of that marriage cert will show his status at that time

Hello Carole.I meant the re-marriage for Florence if there was one.I have both my uncles marriages.The second one said he had obtained a divorce.Its his first wife i wanted to know about.She was the girl next door,some of her family were at my grandmothers funeral.I just wondered what happened.The Welsh newspapers only go up to 1919.I think thats another question i can ask at WDYTYA!!

Previous posters on this thread have suggested that only scanty records are available after 20 years post-divorce. When I checked a divorce [1922] at Kew, there was a box file full of papers, including personal letters. Always worth checking!
