Thomas Edward Simpson
« on: Wednesday 17 February 16 15:59 GMT (UK) »
First time I've had to venture across the Atlantic for research and have to admit I'm getting a little lost on where to go next so would appreciate some help.

I'm looking for my gr, gr uncle Thomas Edward Simpson, born 27th Nov 1874 in Leicester, UK to Thomas Simpson and Sarah Ann Green.

He married Jane Bilson on 19th April 1897 at St Marks in Leicester.
They have a little girl, Joyce in 1902

In Aug 1907 the 3 of them go on the Ottawa to Quebec, Canada

21st Nov 1911 their son Thomas Edward is baptised in St Thomas, in Elgin in Canada - I'm assuming this is where they settled.

Then my trail goes dead and I've got stuck.

He's a shoehand while he is in England if that is any help

Joyce Simpson marries Ralph Henry Chambers in 1927.  Joyce gives her address (and so perhaps her parents address) as 30 Kains? St, St Thomas, Ontario.  She is a stitcher in a shoe factory - very similar to her father's profession!

Jane was also a shoe maker in 1901 - so very much a family industry (though most of my Leicester relatives were)
