Michael Larkham and Mary Searle
« on: Thursday 18 February 16 10:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?

I have a Michael Larkham born circa 1602/3, Lyme Regis, Dorset, son of Thomas and Jane Larkham. Michael married a lady called Mary Searle on 26th November 1628 at Honiton Devon.

As far as I can make out Michael was buried on 2nd June 1655 at Lyme Regis, and Mary on 16th April 1681 at Lyme Regis.

There are a couple of family trees on the internet which says that Michael and Mary had three daughters - Patience, Jane and Susanna. Also on this site it says in Marys will for 1681 she lists the daughters and also several grandchildren? Cannot find any records for Marys will or any details for children or grandchildren.

Any help much appreciated! :)

From Ancestry, who have her probate record, it looks as if Mary's will would be in this collection -     Dorset, Somerset: - Wills and Administrations, 1312-1799.

Hi, many thanks for replying so quickly. Yes I have seen this collection on Ancestry but this is all what it says. It doesn't actually let you have a look at the will?
Will keep searching though and once again many thanks. :)

Hi
No it doesn't actually let you look at it.Have you seen Michael's Will on there?
It's under Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills 20.2.1655
He leaves everything up to his wife to dispose of amongst the children.
Strangely it also says that he made it  within the last 3 days on and died on about the last day of April 1655 and that he seems to have left his wishes orally.

Not much help I know but I've never seen that before.
If you find Mary on the same list is a admin for Thomas Larkham linen draper of Lyme in 1640.

ps have you contacted Wiltshire  archives and asked them since Lyme came under the Bishop of Salisbury?
