What was the Latin name?

Were any siblings baptised in other years?

Not seeing him in 1861, at least not in Stalybridge
And he wasn't born in 1851.

Hi

There is a Frederick NEWTON aged 6 and an Alfred NEWTON in the 1861 at Stalybridge, stepsons of a James and Sarah NEWTON, with other children with the surname Banton

Class: RG 9; Piece: 2998; Folio: 73; Page: 61

In the 1871 census Frederick has the surname NOLAN as does JOHN A NOLAN with Joseph BAMPTON stepbrother, in Birkenhead, with mother now Sarah NOLAN

Class: RG10; Piece: 3747; Folio: 61; Page: 37

Thanks for that Claire, certainly looks like them but still very confusing. They were baptised as Fredericus and Joannes Alfridus Nolan father given as Jacobi Nolan mother Sarae Cooper.Where the Newton comes in I have no idea. Thanks again it is a lead.

Ok sorted it out  magnified the 1861 census and the surnames are Nowlan not Newton. The stepchildren are Sarah's and Jacobi is James. Thanks
