1861 - Wife: Mary E, 1817 in Ramsgate KEN. Children: Louisa, 1850 in Foulness Is. ESS; Job, 1856 in Pagham SSX.
1865 - Widow Mary Elizabeth Blake married William Kinch in March quarter in Worthing district SSX.
1871 - Mary E. Kinch with her husband William and son Job Blake in Broadwater SSX (RG10/1106/31).
1881 - Mary E. Kinch and husband William living in Broadwater SSX (RG11/1115/27).
1891 - Mary E. Kinch and husband William living in Broadwater SSX (RG12/0836/25.

Thanks for replying to my query. That is the Blake family I am researching.
Is there any way to check for parents for children born in the early 1800's in Ireland?
It would seem that Skibbereen Cork Ireland would be a good place to start.

I no longer have a subscription to Find my Past otherwise I would have checked for you, but if you do it would be worth looking at the Merchant Seamen's Tickets for your man. Despite the title of this record set these were also issued to men in the RN and CG Service.

If your man is found then it could provide a date and place of birth, which would help narrow your search. Again, if there, the details of his CG station will be written in the first column.

The other route you could take is to trace his career in the CG Service using the ADM 175 'Establishment Books' available as free downloads from the National Archives website. As a general rule, if not nominated to the service from the Navy, you will find that his nomination is likely to be from his home district. Neither of the above records has any other family information.

Martin: So today I had a moment or two to check out the Merchant Seaman tickets you mentioned. I have found what looks to be my 3x's G Grandfather born in Glendora Cork Ireland in 1808. The record does not give any parents names but a description of him and the fact that he was in Maldon Essex as a boatman, information I already had found.Do you have any idea where I could go from here to find family members. Thanks so much for your help.
