Ancestor transported to Australia

I have come across an ancestor Patrick Hall who was a School Master in Derbyshire - He married in about 1806 and had two children with his wife Sarah. In 1817 Sarah gave birth to a daughter and both died. I have come across a Patrick Hall of Horsley School Master being convicted and transported to Australia in 1829 for 7 years. There is also a newspaper article about his crime. My question is how do I now go about confirming and getting more information on this. Many thanks

A link to his convict records in VDL are on this page ...

(1st result listed)
Are you trying to find out if he is yours? Or are you trying to find out what happened to him afterwards?

Oh wow thanks, it must be him as his occupation was a School Master. Yes was looking to find out if my ancestor and also what happened to him once he was in Tasmania. Your links are great though, if not sad reading.

Oh, I should have remembered that when I linked the little items.
We had long notice the close down was scheduled
From memory, the second item was a court case in 1837 where there was a theft of five pounds or such, which belonged to Patrick HALL.

The previous conviction was at Derby sessions, 20 October 1818, obtaining money by false pretences. There's a record of him on the hulk "Justitia" which is noted that he was pardoned on 28 October 1823.
