Tracing my great-grand parents
« on: Sunday 21 February 16 21:19 GMT (UK) »
Hello; I´m trying to trace my great-grand mother´s  and parents names and dates of birth and death. My great-grand mother´s single name was Winipeg H Starmer and she lived in Broughton Astley (Leicestershire). Thank you very much,

Hello,

You don't give a year of birth and you say that Starmer is her single name.

I can see a marriage for Winifred H  Burdett to Horace Starmer in 1928, Leicester.
Could that be her?
Can you give us more details?

There is a 1901 possibility for the above lady with parents and siblings.

Regards
Heywood

Births Sep 1895   (>99%)
Burdett    Winifred Howitt        Lutterworth    7a   4

(so her name at birth was Winifred Howitt Burdett)

Winifred is in the subsequent censuses as "Winnie" with her family.

That's the one I found and can only see that possibility at the moment.

It was the confusion with the 'single' name.

Hello...I mixed up surnames so her single name was Winifred Howitt Burdett........Annie said she was born in september 1895....I didn´t know her date of birth. Can I figure out the exact day in september? Also her husband´s date of birth? Thank you very very much

The 'September' means Her birth was registered in the quarter of the year ending on 30 sept (ie in July, August or September). Births have by law to be registered within 6 weeks so in fact she could have been born any time between late May- late Sept.
