margaret dunigan b 1861 sunderland
« on: Tuesday 23 February 16 12:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi need a bit help pls to get back on the right track
Margaret Dunigan (Duneigan,Durrigan,Dunnigan) b1861 Sunderland
i have her 1st marriage to Joseph Stoneman in Sunderland in 1883
i would like to find more info on Joseph Stoneman as i cannot find him on any census so i presume he isnt from the Sunderland area ...Joseph must of died before 1902 as Margaret remarried in 1902 a George Burns Woodman
Any info on Joseph and Margaret would be greatly appreciated

Kind Regards
Wilrob

Hi
He appears to have been a soldier , there are service records for a Joseph Stoneman born c 1860 Falmouth, Cornwall.
It mentions a marriage to a Margaret Dunningan 9th May 1883 at

He appears to have been discharged 1890 conduct Bad, addicted to ....(I can t read)
Wonder if this could be him in 1889?
Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette  29 July 1889
Deserting a wife
"Joseph Stoneman, labourer, Army Reserveman charged at Sunderland Petty sessions with deserting wife and child and leaving them chargeable to the Union" There is more but wifes name not mentioned.
His occ on attestment was labourer.
