Family tree - GILLIAND (GILLILAND) and TURBITT

 Hi I am looking For any information on A george Earnest gilliand And Jane turbitt.  They are my Great Grandfather And Grandmother. I believe they had a daughter Ada who become my grand mother  The Place is ballybay Monaghan Ireland. My Father was Born william James Brown I think he was born 1927 and From there I havent a clue until he went to Egypt in World war 2.

Hi Marilyn, welcome to RootsChat. I hope you'll enjoy your time here.

Might I suggest you first obtain your father's birth certificate and confirm his details and next look for the marriage of his parents. Also, check the 1901 or 1911 Irish census it may see Ada with her parents in Co Monaghan.

Finn/Clifford - Callinafercy and Scort, Kerry
Spillane - Milltown
Also:- Byrne / Tyrrell - Dublin

Try the surname spelling Gilliland as well in your search, there is a possible family on the free 1911 census but Ada not with them.

 looking for information on a david brown born in ballybay not sure of year (i think) mother is ada Gilliland father is william brown they are my great grandparents they had 2 daughters kathleen or margaret and 5 sons david my grandfather george, billy, bob and alex

David was baptised James David Brown on 3 December 1899 in Ballybay Church of Ireland parish, the given date of birth was 12 September 1899, parents transcribed as William and Edith Brown.

Where are you looking?

Civil registration index (free- www.familysearch.org) shows marriage for Marion Humphries (Oct./Dec.1921 Cootehill registration district, volume 3 page 101) with groom listed as James David Brown/David Brown.
