Winnifred heffernan
« on: Sunday 28 February 16 01:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi I have been researching for a long time my G G G Grandmother Winifred Heffernan or Hefferman . Born circa 1820  from Tipperary. She is recorded on as  a Bounty Immigrant to Australia. Sailed on the ship Neptune. Arrived Australia 1841 married Michael Honan an Irish convict. They  had 2 or 3 daughters One being Anastasia whom is my G G Grandmother. There is very little info that I can find but was hoping that her early life ,family, where lived/born  and anything else could be discovered. Hoping that someone out there is connected to this family who can shed light  on this lady . I am assuming that she had siblings  Thanks for any help Hereford.

Hi,
Have you got their marriage record?
If you have let me know her Fathers name.
I have found one Winifred but I would need to know his name.
Thanks
Maggsie

Hi again,
I saw your tree in Ancestry, says, Father Patrick and Mother Katherine Hall.
Mary went to Australia before Winnifred.
This is her record.

They were from Caher  ( correct spelling   Cahir)
HEFFERNAN   Mary      1839   17
Caher   Patrick / Kitty  HALL   Father a spademaker.   xx   Ship =   China
the 1839 is the year she went to Australia.

If I find anything else I will send it on to you.
Maggsie

Thank you for your response. I have been on Australia's archive site and found a wedding record 1841 Melbourne new South Wales but I have no printed copy. The parents names that I put onto my tree were names that came up having a Daughter Winifred but no proof they are her parents. I have used those names on my tree in case they trigger something and her true parents( through someone else's tree) show up or they are her real parents.  Michael Honan and Winifred had 3 daughters Anastasia ,Mary and Ellen.
