lost my smiley faces - help !!
« on: Tuesday 01 March 16 01:07 GMT (UK) »
Probably a really stupid question but I am not all that good on technology yet.

Question  -  since I upgraded to windows 10 recently I have lost my " Smiley Faces" etc on RootsChat.

Can anyone help an old lady please.

Thank you

As part of the Windows 10 upgrade, you will now have Microsoft Edge as your web browser.   This does not work completely with Rootschat.   You will need to look at one of the alternative browsers (everyone has their favourite) to get the emoticons back.

Two of the more popular browsers being "Chrome" and "Firefox"

Thank you for your reply.

I will look at that alternative browser.

You've been a great help.

Hiya,

Try clearing the cache in Edge.

This page described how to clear it (but only select cache, and not cookies too):

Thanks Trystan I will give that a try. As I am not at all computer literate if I am at all in doubt I will just have to leave it.

I don't want to change my browser either in case of problems.

Thanks for your advice boys.

Dorrie,

No problem, here is a video of how to do it too.

It only takes a couple of clicks. If you watch the video, then you can work out if it's something you feel comfortable doing yourself.
