I am trying to find the parent/s of Faith Digby born 1889 in Weybourne Norfolk. Have found census records but listed only as granddaughter. Any help would be appreciated.

there is a tree on A******y which has John & Caroline as her parents - but I think they have ade an error as John and Caroline were quite clearly Grandparents
Wonder if maybe Faith was illegitimate ? There is a daughter Hannah Rigby on 1891 census who is of age to be her mother -I cannot find a baptism record
This looks like her birth reg
FreeBMD
Faith Rigby
Sept qtr 1888
Erpingham reg district
4b 72
there is also a possible marriage reg for her in 1918??
If you could send for the birth cert that would give her parents name and mother's maiden name -or if illegit possibly just mother,s name
Marriage reg would give father's name -or just a blank if illegit

Thank you both for your replies. Yes, I've checked out the records of her birth but think that, as you've suggested, I need to apply for her birth certificate.

The only other 2 possible candidates are Elizabeth & Ann Digby but they were both married pre 1889 & had families of their own by 1891 so Hannah looks the only mother.
The birth cert. should confirm it hopefully.
I notice Hannah married twice & doesn't have Faith with her with either husband.

Thank you for your reply Jim. Again, it's the birth cert that should help clarify her parentage.
