Shrewsbury Amateurs ( Football)

I have a photo of my dad in a football team and my mum said he played for Shrewsbury Amateurs.? She is 89 so not sure she has this right. Photo was from the 1940's.
Anyone heard of them or is it more likely to be like a pub team ?

Hi Christine,

Shrewsbury Amateurs were a local non-league team in the 1930s/40s  probably in the Shropshire County League.

Googling '"shrewsbury amateurs" football' gives a few hits mostly naming ex players, you may be lucky with your dad.
