Walter Wynnefield Higgin's of Puddington Hall, Puddington Newton Wirral Cheshire died 9 August 1971. His probate record shows he left £116,066

JJ

that Newton is a mistranscription - it should say Neston - my family are from Neston and I have visited a few times - Puddington Hall was in Puddington ,Neston - unless there are TWO ??

HAD to google it ...lol
Puddington Hall, Puddington Village, Puddington, Neston CH64 5ST

Thanks for posting a correction, I'm not familiar with that area  :)

JJ - only knew it because I have been a couple of times to Neston

I have found Willam S Higgin and Jeanie in Formby 1901 and it states that William S Higgin was born Ormskirk 1856

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X9GG-BTB

added- found his baptism

Baptism: 7 May 1856 St Peter and St Paul, Ormskirk, Lancashire, England
William Sinclair Higgin - [Child] of Thomas Higgin & Rachel Marsden
    Abode: Ormskirk
    Occupation: Merchant
eldest of 5 children
http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/Search/indexp.html

ADDED
WOW - Marriage was AFTER the birth of Thomas - and was in London ....and now we know where the WINFIELD comes from
Thomas Houseman Higgin to Sarah Winfield - 13th july 1816 in Finsbury ,London

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NK6G-HQN
so presumably Sarah Winfield family had money as well .......it wasn't uncommon for wealthy families to wait and see if prospective couples could have children - HEALTHY children .so that the money from both families wasn't wasted on childless couples ..this looks to be one of those cases .......

Hi,

Just seen this forum. I am actually the grandson of Michael Higgin. I am very interested to hear what you have to say.

The family is still based in uk.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
Aubrey
