Lowestoft Cemetery Gravestone Photo Request
« on: Tuesday 08 March 16 10:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

I have an ancestor who was buried in Lowestoft Cemetery, and if anyone has any spare time I would very much appreciate a photo of the gravestone (if it still exists).

The details are :

Burial Plot L/F/275
William CALVER, buried 08/06/1912, 75yo

Thank-you in advance.

Regards.

The Gravestone Resource Project (www.gravestonephotos.com) lists 2 cemeteries for Lowestoft, but I can't find that name listed there. I only had a quick look so might have missed something.

They will send you a photo if they have one.

Good luck.

Thanks Pat.

Yes I've tried all of the online gravestone photo sites that I could find, without success.

A fellow RootsChatter has kindly visited Lowestoft Cemetery, and there doesn't seem to be a gravestone or memorial for the person / grave above.

This topic can be considered completed - thank-you.

You may want to contact Waveney Council and ask them to check their records to see if there had been a headstone or not, possibly because the plot is a common grave?

Thanks - yes an indexed transcript of headstones in the cemetery has been checked, without result for this person / grave, so it seems as though there never was a headstone.
