Lock Hospital Aldershot

Does anyone know if there are any records of Lock Hospital Aldershot a distant relative died there in 1899 so was wondering if there could be any information on her how long she was there etc

It may be known under another name. Lock hospital or Lock wards  was the name given to hospitals or attached wards specially for the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. Something very common in  Naval or Garrison
towns such as Aldershot.

I do know that this was on the Farnborough Road, now A325 at the point where Aldershot meets Heath End, part of Farnham. It was demolished at the end of the 19th century with no trace left. It does appear on old maps and was labelled the Lock Hospital. It was a grim place from the little I have read. A place for punishing women, as usual the men were not punished.
