Moloney family in Co Clare
« on: Monday 14 March 16 05:55 GMT (UK) »
I live in Australia and would love to find out more about my Great Grand Father James Moloney’s life in Ireland with his mother and father.
James Moloney was born in Spaightspark   Tulla  Co Clare on November 17th 1865. I have his birth certificate. He was married in Fremantle Western Australia in 1901. I have the certificate. He died in Western Australia on Sept 12th 1954. I also have the death certificate.
I've not been able to find out when or why he came to Australia.
His mother was Judy  (Johanna or Julia) Walsh. She died on May 8th 1913
His father was James Moloney. He was a farmer. He was born about 1825 and died at Killanena   Spaightspark  Parish of Feakle.
He and Judy (Johanna or Julia) Walsh were married in 1854.
I do not have any certificates for his mother and father.
That’s all I know about them and I have not been able to source any certificates.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated, Karen

Karen,

I have been researching my Broderick Irish (Co Clare) ancestry and note my GR GR Grandmother Bridget Moloney was the daughter of James Moloney (abt 1825-before 1879) and Johanna Walsh (abt 1833-1913). Note Johanna is also recorded as Julia and Judy Walsh in some of the Irish records.

I have your James Moloney's death certificate and believe he is a brother to my GR GR Grandmother. I have never been able to close the loop through any birth/baptism records back in Ireland.

I have a reasonable database on the Moloney branch and would be more than happy to share my research with you. I can be contacted at (*) I also live in Australia.

Regards,

Rick
