Did you look at the 1947 marriage entry on freebmd?

Found nothing except a possible marriage in 1947 between Alfie and Irene. Nothing else there. You are obviously an expert. I'm just a beginner on a site I've never heard of.

Because the child is probably still living - details cannot be given here

use freebmd to search as shown in my earlier reply

You will note that the marriage entry shows 2 surnames for his wife as she was previously married.  The "B" surname was her birth surname and if you check for Mallard births using that maiden name there is one possibility in 1952

I know that  child and gave been mailing her. But Irene's maiden name eludes me. I'll get there eventually Thanks for your patience.

I have already given you Irene's maiden name if you look at the 1947 marriage entry - you may have known her as Irene but that was her middle name - look at the marriage entry and the 1981 death entry

I have found the daughter arriving from Montreal in 1955 but with another person of the same surname who was born 1931 so cannot be mentioned here.  I am going to check who she was

They gave a Bournemouth address on the passenger list

There is another incoming entry from New York in 1856 for the same 2 Mallard's and showing the same Bournemouth address

The daughter comes in again in 1956 with the same person  to the same address, from Halifax
