Yes thanks! that must be my great grandparents , as it states on the marriage cert that Timothy was Marys father

16 years married in  1911 so that gets you a year for marriage so you can then get back another generation.....

Hi.I will be going up to my mother's today to see her in tullamore and probably will be passing 23 omolloy street. She is Joe and Elizabeth's daughter so I can ask her some questions..Joe and Elizabeth's remaining children are my mother , two sisters , and a brother... my mother is 72 so she would be able to remember a few things, she's in good shape she's off to spain this week with her daughter ...not to bad.

Edit , living.

Apologies if off track a little but I too am researching my Brophy connections in Tullamore and as soon as I read this thread the name Mary Mills seemed familiar. When my grandparents married in 1926 one of their witnesses was a Mary Mills along with Joseph Carroll. Is it possible that this is the same Mary Mills we are discussing here.  My paternal great grandmother was Elizabeth ( Eliza ) Brophy. Will be following this closely.
Thank you

Yes,cmred,it's looking very likely that we are and its now a case of joining up the dots with the wonderful help from fellow Rootschatters.
I have no McCormack line any longer in Tullamore as my grandfather John was an only child and the surname is no longer carrying forward.
So it would be nice to know that at least there are still some  Brophy links
