Ledbury, Gloucestershire
« on: Sunday 20 March 16 18:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I discovered on 1911 census that my single great grandmother and a bachelor great grandfather both lived on their own in Ledbury before they got married. Annie Goulder was training for nurse and midwifery and William Harrison-Osborne was training for chemist. Is there a training place for these occupation in Ledbury around 1900s? I can't find anything on Google. Its just that William came from Scotter, Lincolnshire and Annie came from not long way Tidenham, Gloucestershire - such a small place Ledbury to chose for training for some reason. I would love to know how they met!!

Firstly, Ledbury is in Herefordshire, not Gloucestershire! ;D

Annie was living in a Nurses Home in 1911and was already a Certified Midwife.

William could have been training as an industrial chemist, Ledbury had a good railway connection to the industrial West Midlands.
