I was doing my family treeand found john ban campbell must be gealic for something but do not know what can anyone help not gealic speaking myself, I can only guess

Hi doing a bit of googling Ban/Bann seems to be related to "Fair haired"!

Sounds like "Bawn" 
Means white - was probably fair haired.
