I can't find a Henry Mower with a police constable father.

There's a Henry Mower with a twin brother, William born c1857 Bethnal Green

The family were removed from Bethnal Green when the twins were 13 months old.  Father, John, was ill at home.  Not a police constable though.  And none of that Henry's siblings claimed he was when they married

The 1871 census with James and Ann on is very faded, but I don't think that Mary Ann is on it.  I think James and Ann are with children Henry (20) and Sarah (7).  RG10; Piece: 540; Folio: 74; Page: 42

Sarah goes on to marry Edwin Page on April 5th 1885 at St georges in the east

edwin Page  25  Bachelor  Printer  14 William Street, father Edwin Page, bootmaker
Sarah Ann Doyle  20  Spinster  4 Anchor and Hope Alley, father James Doyle (deceased) Dock Labourer

Witnesses Emil and Emily Hebbling?

I think that James and Ann Doyle had quite a brood of children:
Catharine Doyle 5 Sep 1847 St George in the East
Eliza Doyle 7 Oct 1849  St George in the East
Henry Charles Doyle 18 Jan 1852   St George in the East
Margaret Doyle 19 Mar 1854 St George in the East
James William Doyle  Jun 1856   St George in the East
Mary Ann Doyle 17 Aug 1858 St George in the East

I wonder if this is Mary Ann Doyle in 1871 with older sister CAtherine in Brenchley, Kent? RG10; Piece: 935; Folio: 90; Page: 24

Catherine Doyle married James King dec 25th 1865 in Stepney.

Not sure how this marriage fits into the Doyle family, but I feel that it must because William Henry and Elizabeth Turner were witnesses at Catherine Doyle's marriage.

Sept 14th 1862, St Thomas', Stepney
william Henry turner  Bachelor  Waterman and lighterman  of Stepney, father Charles Turner (deceased)
Elizabeth Ann Doyle spinster  of Stepney, father James Doyle, Mariner

both of full age

Ow wow thank you so much for all this information my aunt will be so pleased  ;D

That is a lot of Children to have to bury .
I wonder what happened to Henry Mower senior we may never know .
And why Catherine changed her name , which is why I was struggling to find her.
I am going to put all this together for my aunt thank you all

I think Mary Ann Doyle was in Kent with her Sister Catherine King in 1971
working as a domestic servant age 14
Pretty sure that is our Mary

I don't think your gt.grandmother did change her name.

She was registered with the name Sarah, but her mother decided to have her baptised as Catherine.

Hi Lily,
My  Aunt only ever know her as Sarah Ann Elizabeth  never Catherine
It's was  on her birth certificate which she got for herself in 1944 to claim some assistance
And when she Married Edward Bertrum Rowden in 1899 it was her name
And when she later married Joseph William Watson in 1917 it was here named.
So this is why my aunt is struggling to see her as Catherine
I found two names down for births in the workhouse to Mary Ann Doyle on the 18th March 1881
one Sarah Ann Elizabeth and one Catherine Sarah
