 Hi All

There are these two births with mother Margaret Campbell:

Ann Smith McTaggart 1869 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQZ4-DYX
Mary McTaggart 1872 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQ6V-64D

Marriage in Glasgow in 1867 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYWQ-GNG

Confusingly for 1871, father Hector potentially shows as Peter and the family are visiting from Glasgow in Rothesay... The original will help as always really.

William  (surname missing on transcript) 26 Spinstress b. Argyll
Peter Mctaggart 35 visitor sea captain b. Argyll
Margaret Mctaggart 31 visitor b. Argyll
Annie Mctaggart 2 visitor b. Glasgow

Address: 40 Bishop St, Bute

Age for Margaret seems too young, but good to check just in case other ages are given for her in other references.

1881 and Margaret Campbell McTaggart still showing as born c. 1840:

Hector McTaggart 42 River Steamboat Master b. Tarbert Gaelic, Argyleshire
Margaret McTaggart 40 b. Tarbert Gaelic, Argyleshire
Annie S McTaggart 11
Catherine McTaggart 2
Hector McTaggart 5 Months

Address 154 Eglinton St, Tradeston, Glasgow Govan

Is it all a co-incidence??

Very likely  :-\  Margaret Campbell/McTaggart, wife of Hector died in 1921 at the age of 81 so birth year of c.  1840 pretty consistent. Too young to be Robert's mother.

I'd guess someone misread the handwriting and recorded Hector as Peter on the one entry. However that Margaret would be too young.
