McKee family from Ballymena Northern Ireland
« on: Friday 25 March 16 05:12 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for any info for John McKee born about 1854 married Sarah ? They had nine children, some went to Canada in the early1900's. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Lived in Connor Town.

The couple in the above links are John McKee (father John) and Sarah Allen (father James) who got married in Ballymena 3rd Presbyterian Church on 21 November 1879.

Wow, thank you so much. Don't suppose there are any birth records for John born about 1854?

Civil registration of births didn't start until 1864 so there will be no birth certificate for John McKee. To find a baptism record you'll need to search for a church record but not all churches have records as far back as 1850 and of those that do not all their records will be online.

If you look at the link to the 1911 census that gaffy posted you'll see that they had 13 children with 9 living in 1911 (click on 'show all information' on census page to see this).

John (29 Jan.1881) https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FGJ1-YFK
note: GRONI shows a birth for a John (parents McKee & Allen) born 1 Dec.1880 Ballymena district (also Galgorm sub-district) which cannot be a child of the above couple
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
