US WW1 Draft for Frederick Gore (James Frederick on the 1891 Canadian Census) - born 31 December 1884 -    Orleans County, New York.
Name of person who would always know him was Mrs J N Lebeau Le Grande Oregon (this must be sister Julia)
Julia was Catherine Julia Gore (born 11 November 1879) on the 1891 Census of Canada.

Frederick Gore appears on a couple of border crossings Canada to the USA - arriving Buffalo, New York, 23 October 1930 - had been in the USA earlier - 31/5/1920 - New York - answered "none" to home and nearest address of friend or relative in Canada - rejected as physically defective.

Previous border crossing 5 July 1930 - also rejected - farm labourer - last permanent address Bridgeburg Ontario - going to East Aurora New York. To seek permanent work - medical certificate - double inguinal hernia ???? and groins

Canadian Attestation Papers for George Gore - 14-10-1877 - Railway Contractor - single - resided Headlingley Manitoba - Sister Mrs Annie Barrett.
(Annie Barrett appeared on the 1911 Census with Julia Lebeau and husband Joseph in Kootenay British Columbia)

Wow. Thanks for all that Sandra - will take a while to process that all in my brain!
I did see George's attestation papers and burial, and after looking at his battalion history, think he must have died whilst still at training camp in Canada. Interesting that his brother was also trying to enlist.

If you have an Ancestry log-in Commonwealth records are free until the end of Monday (British time).   It seems to work via ancestry.co.uk but not via ancestry.com .
