Henry Maclaren - South Leith

I'm trying to find a birth record for my GGG Grand father Henry who died in South Leith in 1837 aged 40.

Using the Scottish family naming conventions, which he seems to have done ...his father would be Charles and his mother would be Isabella. The only marriage around the right time I can find is Charles to Isobel Adam in 1795 in the Canongate, which broadly fits.

I've looked in the Canongate records and also the South Leith records as Henry was Married there in 1823 but to no avail. 

Any help would be appreciated
