Thank you for your help. Arthur G Barr married Daisy Cooper in Alverstoke in June 1916 quarter 2b, 1266, according to my research.
It appears that Daisy went back to her family town in Halstead, Essex to have their daughter Pamela Barr, births December 1917, 4a, 1109.
By December 1928 quarter Daisy had married a Mr Henry W Curtis and Arthur had disappeared either deceased or divorced.
Someone by the same name did Arthur G Barr did marry another person too around the same time !

Births index shows just one Arthur George Barr who matches details given in service record:

Arthur George Barr   Dec.qtr. 1896 Medway (covered Chatham where he was born).

The Arthur G. Barr who married a Florence E Manley in the same quarter - Dec.1928 - as Daisy remarried (both events in Hampshire) was, I think, your man.

Although married in Hampshire Florence was a native of Yorkshire and they both ended up there.

Arthur George Barr b.11/9/1896, died March 1983 Beverley, Yorks.

Florence Edna Barr b.24/9/1899 died Nov.1999 North Yorkshire (100 years old) - checking birth index Florence Edna Manley birth Dec.qtr.1899 Sculcoates.

Since both Arthur and Daisy remarried in the same quarter/year I'm guessing they must have got divorced.

HI,

I've found their divorce record,

http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C8051065

It looks like you would have to ask for a quote to find out if they can copy the file and how much it would cost.

But at least you know that there was a proper divorce :)

Regards,
Daisy

this Daisy is my Great grandmother (Daisy Lily Cooper) and Arthur George Barr is my great grandfather although he was never in my grandmothers life. They were divorced on 24 Sept 1928 I don't have the cert but it was stated that Arthur George Barr didn't show up to the divorce proceeding. Daisy was granted the divorce due to being abandoned by her husband Arthur George Barr.

It took me 8 months to find the right George Arthur Barr who was my Great grandfather I found 4 people with that name alive at the same time 2 of which were the right age. I found my grandmothers (his daughters) birth cert in my grandfathers old desk that my mom shipped from England to Canada. It had his RAF number on her birth cert for some reason of George Barr. Through that RAF number I found a Air force record that had his city / town of birth. I have been rather interested in George Barr and have been fighting an uphill battle to find out information on him. How did you come across his name if you don't mind me asking???

For whatever reason George Arthur Barr is one of the top three people on my family tree of thousands of people I am most interested in. I found through a DNA match 4 people through his moms line and records that prove he is the right person.

I was wondering who was requesting this information and if they are related to me?
or did someone come across the name and just fallow a trail???

Anyway on Arthur George Barr's daughter Pamela's official birth cert he is listed as her father with this information.

"Arthur George Barr
1st A.M.
No. 2226
Royal Flying Corps
73rd Squadron, Mechanical Engineer"

I don't know what it all means though?
