School records?
« on: Friday 01 April 16 22:36 BST (UK) »
Is it possible to lookup on school records? See student intakes between 1885 and 1930's?

I've found out from the 1939 census that my relative was listed as aSchoolmaster (mixed elementary school). Is it possible to find out what school this was?

Thanks

Find My Past has just released some new records of school admissions and log books, but they seem to be 1870-1914. You can search by town or by the name of the school, but I don't know if it would help with school teachers.

Just remembered, they also have Teachers' Registration Council Registers 1914-1948, so you might find him there. Not all teachers registered their details though.

We are unable to do look ups from named subscription sites.

Thanks for your reply. How do we access the Teachers' Registration Council Registers?
