Gretna Green Marriage

I was browsing the BNA for the Ringers of Forncett, and tripped across:

Norfolk Chronicle - Saturday 10 November 1781, page 2;

A few days fince[since] was married at Gretna Green,
Dumfreshire, in Scotland, Mr. Robert Weft[West], jun. of
Forncett,. to Mifs Mary Barton, of the fame place,
an agreeable young lady.

I suspect "agreeable" may be a euphemism for "pregnant".

Add; Robert West may (possibly) be a "charming rogue"
