I am trying to 'piece together my family puzzle' and i cant find what became of N Turner.

Please note there is a 'typo' with N Turner, it is really meant to be 'M Turner' who travelled with RJ Martin farmer 39, Master R Martin 9, CJ Martin 39 housewife..... 'all traveling together, last UK residence Swateragh, co Derry, Ireland and intending to settle in NZ.

Can someone please look up where N Turner got off this ship? Was it Sydney? was it NZ? Did she die on the ship?

many thanks  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The Ormonde arrived at Sydney Feb 4 1922. N.Turner is listed underneath the entry for C.Martin in 3rd class females. The ship's next port of call is Brisbane (then London), no Martins or Turner are listed to transit to Brisbane. Total passengers landing at Sydney is more than 500, so I'd say they got off there and onto another to NZ

Papers Past (Auckland Star, Volume LIII, Issue 39, 16 February 1922, Page 4) has the Uhmaroa (sp?) arriving with "Martin and six children" and "L.Turner" in the list of passengers

Hi Sue,

Yes i believe it to be the same person. She lived with her Daughter Clara Jane Martin (nee Turner) and Robert Martin (son in law) in Swatragh, Derry, Northern Ireland, together with the children - of Clara Jane and Robert.

The  MARTIN couple are buried at Waikumete cemetery, so that is good evidence you have the right MARTINs, but I have not seen Mrs TURNER their mother and mother- in- law yet.

The New Zealand chatters will do better I'm sure. ;D
