Grave Photo Request Please - Dublin in 1884 Michael J Bateman
« on: Thursday 07 April 16 12:50 BST (UK) »
All i have found is a newspaper clipping that he died at his son's (i cant find any of his children other than Melicina Bateman born 1848 Waterford, Ireland) on 14/11/1884 at 43 lower Dominick Street, Dublin.

Any information is greatly appreciated, his exact birth date (circa 1814 im assuming in Helvick, Waterford, Ireland) and the names and dates of birth of his children.

He married Ann Beville on 23/8/1842 Lismore, Waterford.

All i have ... is a newspaper clipping that he died at his son's (i cant find any of his children other than Melicina Bateman born 1848 Waterford, Ireland) on 14/11/1884 at 43 lower Dominick Street, Dublin.

The newspaper clipping said M J Bateman died at his son-in-law's house, not his son's house.

Thanks Hurworth, i appreciate your correction (it was a typed email of what was in a newspaper).

Do you know who his other children were? I am hoping to find a family member of past generations who has gotten back further

The death notice (the details of which I posted in an earlier thread) said he died at his son-in-law's and interment would be at Mt Jerome in Dublin.  That would be helpful information for someone trying to look for his grave as Dublin may have several graveyards and cemeteries.

Hi Irish Finder,

Here is the thread with the relevant information mentioned by hurworth please try to include relevant information you have collected so far and/or thread links corresponding to the research in your requests and remember to follow up yourself on the guidance given to you such as the link given for locating the grave at Mount Jerome Cemetery. There's a charge involved here so it is unlikely someone will do this for you:-

It's possible that there is no gravestone but the death certificate should list an informant- who may be Michael Bateman's son-in-law.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
