Australia Immigration from Ireland - Thomas Turner
« on: Friday 08 April 16 08:49 BST (UK) »
Thomas Mccansland Turner was born 01/09/1877, Swatragh, Derry, Ireland.

When his mother, Mellisina Turner died in NZ 19/01/1828, the newspaper made reference to him being in Brisbane.

Can anyone assist with when he left Ireland arriving in Australia and his date of death?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Irish Finder.
I hope you will not mind that I suggest-----
It is not necessary to make  new thread for each event of this family.
This line of inquiry could happily continue on from where I have posted the death notice., I think ;D

I'm glad our finds have been of interest to you.

It's McCausland not Mccansland and his mother probably died 1928 rather than 1828.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I don't know where he was buried I'm afraid. Incidentally I see you already had his death on one of your other threads. That's why we suggest you try to keep things together so we don't waste our time looking for things you already know !

My sincere apologies, I started a NEW Thread, as I thought it was best to have a place or event to search from with help all around the world than to keep everything together for the family.

It was when I was just alerted to the above that I added all my other family questions under my GGG grandmothers death request. So I had a reply but with a different date to you and a place, so I thought to question with you.

I have closed this topic now and hopefully will get the Immigration details all under the Death of Millicent Turner topic. ;)

Hi
I will offer another suggestion if you don't mind. ;D
Unless you are perfectly certain there is nothing more to be found in the subject of a thread, it may not be good idea to close it with the green tick.  This is especially unhelpful when you are still discussing the family on other threads and may create confusion.

It will result in the thread going to archives and is less likely to get any responses at all.
My opinion anyway  ;D

Thomas McCausland TURNER was in Australia by 1917.

Western Australian Electoral Roll 1917
TURNER, Thomas McCausland
Donnybrook, Collie, WA

By 1925, he was in Queensland
TURNER, Thomas McCausland

1943
TURNER, Thomas McCausland
Orotavo, Bowen Tce,

1954

I see no others of the same surname with him at any of these addresses.

Somebody may offer to look further at this immigration for you from FindMyPast.
