Markham, Snitterby, 1851 to 1861
« on: Sunday 10 April 16 09:15 BST (UK) »
Richard Markham born 1806 was a farmer at LandHays farm (Sandhayes farm?) Snitterby in 1851. He is not in the 1861 census. There is a death of RM at Caistor in June 1851 and another in Sep 1858. Please how can I find which one is Richard born in S Cockerington?

Thank you for being so helpful. I am now searching for the death of Ann Markham about 1858.

Richard Markham senior  1782-1854 and his wife is Ann (age 79, born Cockerington) are in Swaby in the 1851 census.

Page Number   8
Registration Number   HO107
Piece/Folio   2111 / 8

Her maiden name was Hannah Pawson.
There 2 deaths in Louth (both 1858) for Ann Markham between 1851 and 1861
There is 1 death in Louth (1858) for Hannah Markham between 1851 and 1861

Is it possible to find which one is Richard Markham's widow please?

His wife, not his widow. ;)

They seemed to keep moving didn't they?

FreeREG has over a dozen Ann MARKHAMs dying 1851-61.  As there is no obviously "right" place, I think you can only select using her age.

Sorry I have been away thinking of other things, and searching lincstothepast. That is very helpful thanks. I think this Ann at Waddingham/Atterby in 1860 is most likely for burial of Ann Markham (1771-). Her son Richard Markham (1806-1858) was buried also at Waddingham/Atterby in 1858. The age should be about 90 not 94 but whoever reported her age may have got it wrong. Both of them were born in Cockerington.
