Thanks, I've realised what it is now. Every time I tried to post my words disappeared, I realised it was the attachment that was too big but no idea why it didn't just tell me that instead of wiping out my words!  ???

Annoying isn't it!!   I've learnt to post the words then click modify to make the attachment - that way the words remain even if the attachment has to come off and be reattached in a smaller size!   ;D ;D ;D

That's a good idea Wiggy, will bear it in mind for the future.   :)

I ended up writing it in a Word document so I could copy and paste it each time. I don't recall this happening previously, I think there was a message saying that the attachment was too big.

It has been happening to me for a while, but I am sure it used not work that way . . . I'm sure the writing used to remain while you fixed the attachment - but something changed.  :-\

Nope, nothing's changed as far as that is concerned.

If you post an image that is too big (more than 500kb) then you'll get the error message screen that says:

"An Error Has Occurred!
Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow."

If you press the "Back" button on your browser you'll see your original message.

Then go down to "Attach" and press "(Clear Attachment)"

This post should be on the "How to Use RootsChat" board, so I'll move it. :) I've changed the title too for others ot make it easier to find when they get the same message.

Trystan

 ;D  ;D

But . . . . . It doesn't Trystan!  When we / I click 'back', I can go back, but though the writing might stay, I can't post again, without going right back to  reply again and starting all over again . . . Unless I post the writing, then do the attachment afterwards.

It is something I am awake to now, but I used to be tearing my hair out wondering what I was doing incorrectly!    ;D  ;D

Maybe I am missing something - quite likely.  ;)
