Oh heavens that is amazing, look for one thing and find another. there was a family rumour suggesting his parents had separated and here it is slap bang in writing finally the evidence thank you so much.

Just to clarify. At the top of the typed letter it says he's not eligible under Army order no. 1V. This refers to the re-enlistment of men who hadn't been demobbed or put on the Z list. Officers & NCO's were offered it first. They were given a Bounty depending on how long they re-enlisted for. Could be £20, £40, £60.
Being a serving soldier made him eligible under this Order but was rejected because of his alien origin.
So risking his life for King & Country didn't count for anything.
