Copas
« on: Thursday 14 April 16 07:33 BST (UK) »
Good morning,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one....
My GGG grandad is Edward Copas, born 1929. I know that he was baptised in Crookham but I can't find where he was born. I believe that his parents are William Copas and Rebecca Parsons but I can't find any solid evidence of that.
Any help would be great.
Hopefull

born 1929. I know that he was baptised in Crookham

Presumably that should read 1829.

There's a possible baptism in East Lockinge https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N82L-H5H

He's in Cookham (not Crookham) in the 1841 census with mother Rebecca, a publican, and several probable siblings

In subsequent censuses 1851-1891 his birthplace is shown as Cookham.

This baptism in Cookham does look more likely https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J322-R3J

Thanks very much for your help Shaun.
It has taken me a little further in my quest and although I could find out quite a lot about William, I am still a little confused about Rebecca. I shall press on now and see what I can find.
Regards
