Thomas Andrews 1786-1861 was the son of Joseph Andrews 1759-1836 and Mary Terry 1761-1839. Thomas, like his father was a shoemaker, and is described as such at the baptisms of his children. In the 1841 census he was living at the Sunday School House, Alvechurch and described as a School Teacher. In 1851 and 1861 he is described as the Parish Clerk.
Mary Cartwright was born about 1793. Where, I do not know.
The mother of Mary Cartwright was also Mary. In 1841 she was living alone in Rowney Green, Alvechurch, born out of county, with her age given as 80, although she was born about 1857. She died on 12 May 1843, and was buried at St Laurence Church, Alvechurch on 16 May 1843 (Source: Parish Register: Abode-Alvechurch, Age-86). The sole executor of her will was Thomas Andrews (Source: Will of Mary Cartwright proved 12 Aug 1843).
I have searched for a marriage of Thomas Andrews to Mary Cartwright without success. The Worcestershire Marriage Index, held at The Hive, Worcester does not have a marriage for this couple. Family Search does not have a record for them. It is possible that as Mary's mother was born out of county Mary may have been married at the home parish of her mother.
I would be grateful if anyone has any idea how I may move forward to find a marriage for Thomas and Mary.
Thanks,
