This time I've looked for the baptism of a Mary Cartwright and have found the following (on family search):
1794 March 30 Mary Cartwright daughter of Henry Cartwright and Mary
at Old Swinford (Stourbridge)
then a marriage search
1790 Feb 14
Henry Cartwright and Mary Perry at Halesowen
I think the distances to these places are possible (I've found Bromsgrove people getting married etc in Old Swinford, Halesowen and Birmingham, so from Alvechurch it could be possible too).
The above might be worth looking into, though it still isn't Mary's marriage.
Lisa
Thanks for this Lisa. It may well be significant.
The will of Mary (?) Cartwright 1757-1843 was written on 1 August 1826, almost seventeen years before her death. In the will she mentions her sons John and William. The couple you have identified as the possible parents of Mary Cartwright 1793-1862 also had a son John who was baptised 9 Jan 1791, which also fits nicely with the marriage you have on 14 Feb 1790 at Halesowen.
I have looked, without success, for a baptism of William Cartwright with parents Henry and Mary. It would have been good to have found a baptismal record for William which ties in with the above, but, at the same time it doesn't mean the above is wrong. More research I think!
Many thanks,
