« on: Wednesday 20 April 16 08:35 BST (UK) »
Hello Roots Chat Community

I'm Afia, I'm new here. I'm still not sure how everything works yet. But I will be working at it.
I'm here because I need help searching for my mother. Its been a long journey trying and with so much effort, however with no anwsers. If anyone could help and lend a hand. It would be really appreciated. Here are some details:
Mothers name: Jill Maree B
Birthday: Unknown
There are some ideas that she might have stayed in Australia.
My full name is Jill Oware
Year of birth: 1960's
If anymore info is needed please don't hesitate to ask me. Thank you.

Hi Afia, and welcome to Rootschat.

I'm afraid you are not allowed to mention the names of anyone still living. Rootschat is generally a site for researching the long departed. You may find GenesReunited more useful in this instance.

Please remove your name and your mother's name if she is still alive. Maybe just replace the names with initials. Someone may be able to help you via Personal Message, but you have to make three posts before this system is activated, so just reply here a couple of times.

Could you answer a couple of questions?
Where were you born?
Where was your mother born? Where was she last living? What is her place of birth? Was B**** her maiden or married name?
You say she may have stayed in Australia. Whereabouts in Australia?

Maybe someone has access to some resources which may help you. Just go back and remove names and we'll try to help. There is a 'modify' button at the top right of your post. Click on that to make the changes.

Hi Ruskie

Trying to tie JMAAB(JMAAO) to MB at that address.
Have I tripped up?

Hi Jill,
Welcome to rootschat from me too  :)

Have you tried the whitepages http://www.whitepages.com.au/   Click on residential

If Ray is on the right track then there are only 9 entries with that surname - unfortunately none with initials J.M but it could well be worth writing letters to them all to see if they know anymore.

If Ray is on the right track then this is one of the people at the same address - his WW2 record
http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/Veteran.aspx?serviceId=A&veteranId=635148.  And here is his burial records http://rpcv.com.au/deceased-search/deceased/?id=56149

regards

There is someone with your mother's name in Bendigo in 1967, 68, 72, 77 and 1980 (that is as far as the electoral rolls go).

Jill, did you ever live in Australia?
Are you currently living in the UK?
