John Lea, another Lea name that has been mentioned to me in the sketchy information I have about my grandfather, William Alfred Lea.  William Alfred Lea was born in London in either 1903 or 1904 and came to the United States in 1920.  John Lea in Coleraine, County Derry, Ireland may be an uncle or?  I sure hope there are some Lea relatives in Ireland or England who are on this website who can help me fill in some blanks.  Thank you!

Cindy

You've been looking for the wrong person!

1925 address is Warren Villa, Lodge Road, Coleraine
I wondered if the name of the house had anything to do with Warren Baxter who lived on Lodge Road (died 1927) so had a look at Valuation Revision Books (www.proni.gov.uk)
In the book covering 1913-1931 (last one)-
75. Thomas O'Connor (Reps David Baxter) changed in 1918 to John W. Rea (Warren Baxter)

John W. Rea married 20 Jan.1915 Belfast to Margaret Lea. It's likely that Margaret's mother stayed with them until she died (Eliza Lea, age 85, died 16 May 1945 Portstewart district).
Rea John Wilson of Strand Road Portstewart county Londonderry district superintendent of Messrs. Shell-Mex and B.P. Limited died 16 September 1944 at 504 Oldpark Road Belfast Administration Belfast 13 February to Margaret Rea the widow. Effects £1261 4s.
Rea Margaret of Strand Road Portstewart county Londonderry widow died 25 January 1957 at Ratheane Hospital Coleraine county Londonderry Probate Belfast 26 April to John Murray Caithness company director. Effects £978 3s. 8d.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you!  This was very helpful! I was always told that Margaret Lea, daughter of my great grandmother Lea never married.  To know that she was indeed married and that she did go back to live with her til she died answers the question as to why she was not still in the States. Many thanks for your help!
